If you were looking for the incubators of Pokémon Masters EX, see Egg Pokémon (Masters).

An Egg Incubator (Japanese: ふかそうち Incubator) is an item in Pokémon GO required to hatch Eggs. Every player starts with one infinite-use Egg Incubator (Egg Incubator ∞). Players can obtain more limited-use Egg Incubators, which break after three uses, during gameplay or at the Shop. To hatch an Egg, the player can select an Egg from the Pokémon menu and tap the "Incubate" button. The user interface will show a list of all available incubators along with the number of uses it has left.

During the 2016, 2017, and 2018 Holiday events, players could obtain a single-use Egg Incubator, once per day, at the first PokéStop visited.

In August 2017, the Super Incubator was introduced. It is a limited-use Egg Incubator that hatch Eggs 50% faster, effectively reducing the distance by a third. Using a Super Incubator, the distances required to hatch an Egg are as follows:

  • 2 km → 1.33 km
  • 5 km → 3.33 km
  • 7 km → 4.67 km
  • 10 km → 6.67 km
  • 12 km → 8 km

Egg Incubator was introduced as an Item card in the Pokémon Trading Card Game during the English Sword & Shield Series (the Japanese Sword & Shield Era). It was first released in the Japanese and English Pokémon GO expansions, with artwork by sadaji. It was also released as a Secret card in the same Japanese and English expansions, with artwork by the same artist. It allows the player to flip a coin. If heads, they can search their deck for a Basic Pokémon, put it onto their Bench, and then shuffle their deck. If tails, they can put the card back to the bottom of their deck.
