GTS Problem | Page 3

Oh joy, yet another example of the Pokemon fandom being unable to use common sense when it comes to cheating. I know a good chunk of this is caused by 12 year olds who learned their views of fairness from children's cartoons and movies, but that doesn't stop it from getting old. Time to carry on the tradition of posting a rant in the extremely slim hope that someone might be convinced by it. :p

It's none of your damn business if someone clones Legendaries, unless you REALLY have something against it and you recieve a clone without knowing it until after you've had it for a while.

There, I said it. If it doesn't effect you, it's none of your business. "But the Legendaries aren't SPECIAL anymore if you can clone them!", you say? Since when WERE they special? Pokemon games sell millions of copies. That's millions of instances each in-game legendary. Nothing ever stopped you from trading them, and in RSE and beyond, you NEEDED to trade them if you ever wanted certain version exclusive legends. If legends were supposed to be so rare, you would have NEVER been able to trade them. Ever.

If someone wants to get a Legendary and they know it's cloned, it's not YOUR place to stop them. If someone wants to clone legends in their own game, it's not YOUR place to stop them. If someone offers you a cloned legend and you don't want a clone, then it's your place to say no to them.

This is a basic RPG aimed at CHILDREN, for god's sake. If you're in such a huff over people doing things that dont actually hurt anyone(unless allowing people who normally wouldn't get legends to recieve them in trades counts as harm for some bizarre reason), I'd hate to see you react to far shadier dealings in the real world.
News flash:people do things that you may not approve of. If you don't know the people involved and what they're doing isn't illegal, you don't have any right to force them to stop. You can ask them to stop and try to convince them to stop, but you have no right to force the issue. People say things like "yeah, Nintendo should ban hacked and cloned Pokemon from everything! Even if it's between two friends who don't care about cheating, IT'S WRONG SO THEY CAN'T DO IT!" cross the line from trying to convince to trying force. Official tournements are a different matter because cheating is specifically agaist the rules, but outside of that the rules are generally set between the two battlers(friend code battles) or what the game's coded rules dictate(PBR random battles, DP Battle Tower). The latter can be whatever Nintendo wants it to be, but the former is nobody's business other than the two people involved. End of story.

As for the original topic...sheesh, that's annoying. We'll have to see if this was intentional or not, but if it IS intentional, oh well, there's always this thing called the internet to arrange trades between people using Friend Codes. Setting trades up over the internet will probably net you better deals than using GTS anyway.
