Fire typesCharizard wins. He took down three pokemon in his rival match, two of which he had critical disadvantages with. Especially since one was the rivals signiture pokemon at the time. Infernape sruggled to take down one pokemon, when they hit each other for normall damage. He relies on his ability to win battles.
Water Types
Either Squirtle or Kingler. While squirtle has been shown to be legendary, kingler would put up a strong fight, and it would ultimatly come down to what the writters felt like.
Grass Types
Either bulbasaur or sceptile. bulbasaur, like squirtle, has been potrayed as legendary, but sceptile was ashs main powerhouse in hoen. Once again, it would come down to wether the writters wanted to take down a legend or make sceptile seem even stronger.
Flying types
Swellow wins. While pidgeott and noctowl were strong battlers when used (more pidgeott), they didnt match swellow in useage, or how much ash relied on them as a powerhouse. While staraptor was a step closer, he still wasnt a major offensive fource, wasnt used as much, or didnt have as muh endurance.
Normal types
Snorlax wins. While tauros was a major offenseive fource and a great opening pokemon, it dosent match snorlax's power or legendary potrayal.
Ground Types
This could go either way. While i feel donphan would pull it out, it could easily go either way. Gible dosent stand a chance, however.
Fighting types
This could go either way, but I feel primape could snag the win from heracross. He's been trainig with Anthony for forever, and must be very strong now. However, it could go either way.
Other
Muk vs Galaile would be an interesting battle. I think with muk's engullfing stratagy, he would win, however. They were both shown to be strong battlers.
